Mitsubishi Outlander Ralliart PHEV May Debut in 2024

Design & Interior

The Mitsubishi Outlander Ralliart PHEV is expected to look visibly sportier than the normal model. On January 11, 2022, Mitsubishi introduced various Ralliart concepts, including an accessorized Outlander (Outlander Ralliart Style) and a modified Outlander PHEV (Vision Ralliart Concept). The Outlander Ralliart PHEV the company plans to launch will be the production version of the latter, as per the Japanese publication reporting the development.

If the Mitsubishi Outlander Ralliart PHEV does turn out to be the production version of the Mitsubishi Vision Ralliart Concept, it may flaunt extensive exterior modifications. These revisions may include a radiator shutter (in place of the radiator grille), new bumpers, widened front and rear over fenders, rear diffuser, F1-style brake light, and 22-inch wheels wrapped in large-diameter tires. We expect Ralliart badges, side decals, and an exclusive color scheme as well.

As for the interior of the Mitsubishi Outlander Ralliart PHEV, we don’t expect any significant design changes. The production Mitsubishi Ralliart SUV may feature sports seats, Ralliart Red start button, Ralliart-branded seat covers and floor mats, contrast stitching on the seat covers, a special welcome greeting on the 12.3-inch fully digital instrument cluster and the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and exclusive trim.

The Outlander Ralliart PHEV is also likely to get features like a panoramic sunroof, 8-way power driver seat adjustment with memory function and power lumbar support, 4-way power front passenger seat adjustment, a 10.8-inch head-up display, 3-zone automatic climate control, a wireless charging pad, and a Bose premium audio system.

Specifications

Reports suggest the Mitsubishi Outlander Ralliart PHEV should employ a modified version of the regular model’s plug-in hybrid system and produce a combined power of 286 hp. That would be an increase of 38 hp over the total power of the normal Outlander PHEV‘s powertrain. For reference, the donor model clubs a 2.4-liter gas engine with two motors, one at the front and one at the rear, and this combination gives it 248 hp.

In addition to the extra power, the Mitsubishi Outlander Ralliart PHEV may have a lower and stiffer suspension setup and an additional drive mode for a more dynamic experience. The traction battery pack could be the same lithium-ion unit with an energy storage capacity of 20 kWh. The EPA-est. range could be slightly lower than that of the regular PHEV (38 miles), around 35 miles.

Price & Release Date

The Mitsubishi Outlander Ralliart PHEV could be unveiled in early 2024 with a price tag of around JPY 5.5-6.1 million (appx. USD 40,300-44,697), as per the Best Car Web report. While the company hasn’t disclosed its intentions with the Ralliart for the U.S. market, we are wishing it makes it to the States sometime by Summer 2024.

TopElectricSUV says

The new-generation Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is a solid all-rounder, offering three rows of seats, a practical electric driving range, DC fast-charging, and loads of comfort and convenience features. The addition of a hot Ralliart variant would be like a cherry on top of the cake. Mass-market PHEVs rarely ever get enticing for style-conscious customers and performance enthusiasts, but, like the 2023 Toyota Prius Prime, the Mitsubishi Outlander Ralliart PHEV could be a different animal.
